Two horses killed in vehicle collisions on Trans-Canada Highway near Morley

RCMP say two horses were killed but no drivers were seriously inured after the animals were struck near Morley on Monday night.

Cpl. Laurel Scott with the Alberta RCMP said Cochrane RCMP were called to Highway 1 between Highway 40 and Ozada Road around 11:30 p.m.

She said two horses that were loose on the highway were struck, one by a semi-truck, and another by a second vehicle.

Members of Morley security helped RCMP get other horses that were loose back into a field.

Scott said there were no reports of anyone being transported to hospital from the scene.
