Calgary police say a man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in December 2020 was arrested in B.C. on Wednesday.

Michael Elendu, 19, was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the murder of Kyreese George Wright, 20, of Calgary. Elendu is charged with second-degree murder.

Wright was found stabbed to death at a home in the 200 block of Panatella Court N.W. on Dec. 16, 2020.

Police said in a news release Thursday afternoon that Elendu was arrested Wednesday night in New Westminster, B.C., after police in that city received a tip from the public.

Earlier, Calgary police had asked for the public’s help in locating Elendu, saying they believed he was still in the Calgary area, but also had suspected he might be in Winnipeg or British Columbia.
