Sunny Summit End offers spacious bedrooms for ultimate comfort

When a bedroom is too small, nothing has its own space and clutter builds quickly.

A well-sized sleep space does the opposite, creating a more organized, welcoming room in which to start and end one’s day.

Fortunately for owners of the Summit End at Parallel Bloc, this townhome by Trico Homes clearly offers the latter.

Parallel Bloc is a development with a private central courtyard in the southwest master-planned community of Crestmont West.

This 1,546-square-foot Summit End, which has an attached two-car garage and dual master bedroom orientation, is one of two show homes displayed here. The dimensions of both bedrooms are well above average. They each reach 19 feet wide.

As demonstrated in the show home, this creates space for additional uses, such as a sitting area. This is ideal for curling up with a good book or magazine on a sunny weekend afternoon. Some may also choose to add a shelf or cabinet.

Both bedrooms — which each have a walk-in closet and ensuite — are highlighted by multiple large windows that pull in considerable levels of sunlight. They also have boxed out sections on their respective exterior walls that elevate the visual interest of each bedroom.

The top level of the townhome has a central laundry area with a front-load washer and dryer.

Its open-concept main level is optimal for hosting get-togethers with friends or family. The great room, which boasts a box-shaped fireplace, sits along tall glass doors that step out to balcony. At 12 feet by six feet eight inches, it’s large enough to support everything from a couple enjoying a morning coffee to several friends and a bottle of wine.

The kitchen is L-shaped, providing a substantial level of cabinets that support an extensive collection of pots, pans and other cookware. It has an island with a sink and eating bar that seats two people. There’s also a full-height tile backsplash and stainless steel appliances, including a bistro-inspired chimney-style hoodfan.

The great room and kitchen flank a dining area that is shown with a table that seats six people. The open-concept creates flexibility, allowing one to use a much larger table for short-term purposes, such as hosting a holiday meal.

A sunken mudroom with a bench and coat hooks accesses the attached garage.

People downsizing from a single-family home will appreciate this model’s use of rooms typically associated with single-family homes.

The optional developed basement can contain both a home office and a flex room.

As seen in the show home, the flex room can function as a secondary TV room, which is similar to what one might find on the second level of a single-family home. The flex room, which connects to a full bathroom, also makes sense as a craft room or home exercise centre.

A new road from the Crestmont West that connects to Old Coach Banff Trail creates quick access for the community’s residents to a range of upscale shopping and dining amenities in West 85th and Aspen Landing.

The community is about a 15-minute drive from the University of Calgary, SAIT and the Foothills Medical Centre.
