Human remains found near Chestermere have prompted an investigation by RCMP.
Mounties said they were notified on Friday of a body dumped on a rural road just west of the city, which is east of Calgary. Police processed the scene and the remains have been transported to the medical examiner’s office in Calgary.
The identity of the deceased is unknown at this time, but officials believe it is a white woman.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
The Alberta RCMP major crimes unit is investigating.
