One dead after early morning shooting in Forest Lawn

One man is dead after an early morning shooting in southeast Calgary on Saturday.

Calgary police said the incident took place just before 3 a.m. in the Forest Lawn community with reports of two vehicles involved in a shooting. Attending officers found one vehicle collided into a barricade near the Rundle LRT station at 36 Street and 26 Avenue N.E.

Two males inside the vehicle were transported to hospital.

One man succumbed to his injuries. The other is in stable condition.

Investigators are continuing their search in Forest Lawn and are asking anyone with information on the shooting to come forward. They are asking residents and business owners to check for property damage, which may be related to the shooting.

An autopsy is scheduled for early this week.
