Bila-Haut Le Roussillon Rouge

Cotes du Roussillon Villages, France

Here’s another wine that always over-delivers when it comes to quality. M. Chapoutier, located at the foot of the Hermitage hill in the northern Rhone Valley, boasts a long history of winemaking.

Owner Michel Chapoutier, who follows in the footsteps of his grandfather Marc and great-grandfather Marius, has broadly expanded the company’s holdings with wineries in Australia, Portugal and, in 2000, Roussillon in southern France. The focus has always been on quality.

This authentic, dry, balanced red, a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan, boasts dark fruit flavours such as black cherry, blackberry, leather, cedar, white pepper and black licorice. And you just can’t beat the price.
