No injuries, spills after CP Rail train derails in southern Alberta

An investigation is underway after a CP Rail train derailed in southern Alberta early Saturday morning.

According to CP Rail, the derailment happened around 6:30 Saturday morning in the Kipp rail yard near Coalhurst, about 10 kilometres northwest of Lethbridge.

The Calgary-based railway company said there were no reported leaks or spills in the incident, and no injuries to train crews.

CP Rail sent workers to the scene to clean up following the derailment.
