Motorcyclist dead in two-vehicle crash that closes Barlow Trail

One man is dead after a collision between a motorcycle and a car Tuesday afternoon.

Police and EMS were called to the scene of the crash on Barlow Trail S.E., near 26th Street close to where it merges into 17th Avenue S.E., at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

They found a motorcyclist who was pinned under a vehicle after his motorcycle “slid” into the car, police said.

EMS declared the man in his 20s dead at the scene of the crash. The other vehicle only had a single occupant, an adult female, who was checked by EMS but had no injuries.

Barlow Trail near 26th St. S.E. was still closed as of 2:45 p.m. as traffic investigators were still on the scene. Police said they were hoping to have the road open by rush hour.
