Earlier this week, Trudeau voiced frustration over the pace of getting Canadians inoculated against the novel coronavirus.

As of Tuesday, Canada had received nearly 425,000 doses of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines — but fewer than 150,000 Canadians had received shots by then.

Calgary church reprimanded for not following COVID protocols

An Alberta Health Services inspector detailed numerous violations at a Calgary church earlier this week, and has issued an order to the pastor to start following protocols.

According to a report published on the AHS website, the inspector saw no effort made at social distancing between family groups within the church.

“In the auditorium, members of different households were not distanced at least 2 metres apart,” reads the report. “The rows in the auditorium were full, with people sitting side by side and with the rows of seats themselves not distanced 2 meters from each other.”

Quebec, Ontario report a combined 163 deaths

Quebec is reporting 2,519 new cases of COVID-19 today and 74 more deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus.

Health officials say 16 of those deaths occurred in the past 24 hours. Hospitalizations dropped by 13 to 1,380, and 202 people were in intensive care, unchained since yesterday.

Ontario, meanwhile, set new single-day highs both for COVID-19 cases and deaths today. Government data shows 3,519 new cases of the virus in the past 24 hours along with 89 new deaths.
