To assist in their investigation into a double homicide that occurred at the end of 2019, Calgary police are releasing CCTV footage of key witnesses who they believe met with the victims prior to the shooting.

The released CCTV footage and images show occupants of a black Dodge Durango, which police have labelled a witness vehicle. According to Calgary police, the occupants are believed to have met with the victims, Keem Geng and Achor Jal, at Sunridge Mall before the shooting occurred on Dec. 30.

Investigators are seeking these witnesses because they could have “vuluable witness information regarding the incident,” Calgary police said in a release.

After multiple shots rang out in the 100 block of Rundlemere Road N.E. on Dec. 30, the two 22-year-old men were dropped off at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in critical condition. Both men eventually died, Geng on Dec. 30 and Jal on Jan. 10.

The CCTV footage released by police Wednesday shows the occupants were taken near the Sunridge Mall Time Hortons at 3580 20th Ave. N.E., just hours before the shooting.
