Hinshaw said about 12,700 tests were conducted over the past 24 hours representing a seven per cent positively rate. This follows a trend in recent days of positively rates sitting between seven and nine per cent.

The province ramped up vaccine distribution in the final days of last year.

Between Dec. 29 and 31, Hinshaw said Alberta Health Services increased the number of vaccine doses delivered by 119 per cent, from 6,504 to 14,244. By end of day Friday, she said about 3,000 more doses would be administered marking an increase of 160 per cent over four days.
